Privacy policy — Nine Suspects
Effective date: 28 September 2026 · Last updated: 28 September 2026
Nine Suspects (“the app”) is published by Bacon Agency SRL, Str. C. Negri 14, bl. G4, ap. 16, 700259 Iași, Romania (“we”). We are the data controller for the processing described here. Contact: ninesuspects@baconagency.eu.
The short version: the app has no accounts, collects nothing about you for us, and sends nothing to our servers — we have none. Your progress lives on your device. Two Google services are built in: Google Play Billing for purchases and Google AdMob for the optional rewarded ads, and those process some data under Google's own terms, as set out below.
1. Data the app stores on your device
The app keeps one save file on your device: your chosen inspector name (fictional, from a list), your progress and results per case, daily-case results and streaks, level codes you typed, your fresh-case codes, sound and language settings, and your entitlements (purchases and cases opened with an ad). This file never leaves the device and is deleted when you uninstall the app. It is not personal data in any meaningful sense, but it is yours: there is no way for us to read it.
2. Purchases — Google Play Billing
Purchases (Full Case Files, case packs) are made through Google Play. Google processes the payment and tells the app only which products your Google account owns; we never receive your name, payment details or address. Google's handling of purchase data is described in the Google Privacy Policy and the Google Play Terms of Service. The app stores the fact that a product is owned in the save file above, and asks Google Play again on start-up so that purchases follow you to a new device.
3. Advertising — Google AdMob
The app shows rewarded ads only: an ad appears only when you tap a button that offers one (rush the lab, the deduction hint, a second daily attempt, opening a case, a fresh case). There are no banner or interstitial ads, and owners of Full Case Files see no ads at all.
Rewarded ads are served by Google AdMob (Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited for users in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland). To serve and measure ads, and to prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may process: your device's advertising identifier, IP address (and an approximate location derived from it), device and app information (model, operating system, app version, language), and information about ads shown and your interaction with them. Depending on your consent choices, ads are either personalised or limited/non-personalised. How Google uses this data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and the Google Privacy Policy. We do not receive this data ourselves; we only see aggregate reporting from AdMob.
Consent. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland the app shows a consent message (Google's User Messaging Platform) before any ad is requested. You can decline personalised advertising; rewarded ads then still work in limited form where available. You can change your choice at any time from the game's sound sheet (Ad preferences, shown where the law requires it) or through your device's advertising settings (Android: Settings › Google › Ads, where you can also reset or delete your advertising ID).
Legal basis in the EEA/UK: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) for personalised advertising and the storage of identifiers; our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) in funding a free game with limited ads where you have not consented, to the extent permitted.
4. What we do not do
- No accounts, no sign-in, no e-mail collection.
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDK of our own. (Google Play may show us anonymous crash statistics collected by Android with your consent to Google.)
- No access to contacts, camera, microphone, photos, files or precise location. The app requests only network access, needed for purchases and ads.
- No selling or sharing of personal data with anyone other than the Google services named above.
5. Level codes and fresh cases
A level code is a short string that names a puzzle by its number; it contains no personal information and nothing about you is attached to it when you share it.
6. Children
Nine Suspects is a murder-mystery logic game rated for players aged 12 and over. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the age of digital consent in your country) and we do not knowingly collect data from them. Ads are requested with Google's tag for content suitable for teens.
7. Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete on request — uninstalling the app removes everything it stored. For data processed by Google (advertising, purchases), you can exercise your rights through Google's controls and privacy policy linked above. If you are in the EEA or UK you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. You can always write to us at ninesuspects@baconagency.eu and we will help where we can.
8. Changes
If the app ever starts to process data differently — for example if we add analytics or an online feature — this policy will be updated first and the date at the top changed. The current version is always at baconagency.eu/ninesuspects/privacy.html.
